1H CONTINUATION

Opening Hour Bias Analysis · CME Globex 18:00 – 17:00 Eastern · n = 2,472 Sessions
The 1H Continuation concept examines whether the direction of a key opening hour on the NQ futures contract predicts the directional outcome of the broader session. Two signal hours are studied: the 6PM Hour (18:00–19:00 ET), which captures the initial Globex open reaction, and the 9AM Hour (09:00–10:00 ET), which captures the NY equity market open and the surrounding pre-market activity. For each signal, two outcome windows are measured — the Full Session (17:00 close vs 18:00 open) and the NY Equity Session (16:00 close vs 09:30 open). A continuation is recorded when the outcome window closes in the same direction as the signal hour. 1 tick = 0.25 points.
